BENEFITS TO HAVING A MICRO WEDDING

More Comfort

Because micro weddings are smaller in size, guests see my camera more frequently. That means they get used to my presence and having a camera close to their personal space. I’m also able to connect with everyone thru more conversation. I like to interact with people so they get to know my personality and demeanor as a person. I’m not just a machine with a camera. I do this because the way I like to photograph is by getting close and inside everyone’s personal space. The photos end up looking more intimate and emotional. It’s important that I build trust with the people I’m photographing.

More Casual

I’m a casual guy who feels more comfortable interacting with smaller groups of people vs. large parties. My couples are the same way. They often don’t like the spotlight on them and prefer only interacting with close friends and family. So naturally, we are both comfortable working together because we understand each other.

Micro weddings usually have less formalities and events that are scripted onto their timeline. This means less stress. Their wedding is less about rituals and more about connecting with others. I’m able to focus on capturing moments and telling a story rather than worrying about being ready for the next event coming up on their timeline.

More Intimacy

This is the big one for me. Micro weddings lend themselves to more intimate moments. Less people and less formalities leads to closer interactions that are more intimate and personal. Capturing intimate connections is the main reason why I love documentary photography. Photographing love and affection is an amazing gift for me and I’m honored to bear witness to it.

More Personal

Micro weddings that take place in a family member’s house or cabin are special because it’s more personal. Your memories of that place are already special because you’ve experienced so many happy moments there. Maybe you grew up there or it was a cabin that you frequented every year with your family. There’s an extra feeling of nostalgia that you don’t get when married at a public wedding venue or resort.

If you’re the type of person who doesn’t love big crowds or being the center of attention than micro weddings are a perfect option for your wedding. It allows for deeper connections with loved ones, less stress without worrying about a timeline, and more personal moments that lead to special memories. Documentary photography doesn’t get in the way and allows for your deeper connections to unfold while they are captured and preserved for many generations.
